Admissions are generally opened for Nursery, Kindergarten and Class 1 and in a limited number to other classes depending on the vacancies. Selection Criteria Admission to Nursery in NDPS is governed by the age criteria. The child should be 2 years and 6 months of age or more as on April 1 of the year for which admission is applied. For Nursery, seats are also reserved for students in compliance with the Right to Education Act of 2005. For Grades 2 to 8, the child should have completed the course of study of the previous class, for admission to be granted. For Grade 9, admission for the available seats, if any, will be granted on the basis of an aptitude test coupled with an interview. For Grade 11, the admission window for external candidates will open only after the declaration of the CBSE Class 10 results. The admission is based on the cut off percentages for each stream, which is displayed on the school notice board. Students from boards other than CBSE are required to provide the migration certificate. Admission will not normally be granted directly in Classes 10 and 12. Admission will be granted subject to the availability of seats. Once seats are filled, admissions to that class will be closed. We also recognize the value of Art, Drama, Music, Service and Sport and look for achievement and enthusiasm in these fields. We look for pupils who are prepared to make the most of the opportunities on offer at NDPS. We do not discriminate on grounds of gender, religion, caste, ethnicity, social background or disability. Siblings and other NDPS connections We value family connections with the school but are also keen to foster new associations and links. We do not automatically offer places to younger siblings. However, we understand the importance to many families of educating their children in the same school, and a sibling advantage is applied to each application. There are others who have strong connections to the school such as old NDPIANS. As with siblings, this does not guarantee entry but careful consideration of this connection will form part of the decision-making process.
