23-Aug-2018 The Times of India Classical Indian recital at NDPS Under the aegis of SPICMACAY, NDPS organized a vocal recital for the students on August 21,2018. The renowned Indian classical vocal maestro Mr. Dhananjay Hegde was accompanied by Mr. Hitendra Dixit on Tabla and by Mohan Shukle on Harmonium. Praising the lushgreen atmosphere of the NDPS campus, the vocal maestro began his vocal rendition with Raag Malhar. He cast his magic spell through his rapturous rendition which teleported everyone into a magical world. Mr. Dhananjay Hegde also answered the queries of the students- Siddharth Jain, Kartikey and Shreyas Joshi, he said that his true inspiration are his parents, his guru and his own dedication. Om chanting, he said, increases control over voice and concentration. He added that age does not matter for singers if you are devoted to discipline in your practice i.e. Regular Riyaaz. He advised and motivated students to learn semi Indian classical and begin with Thumri and Chaiti, i pure Indian classical seems difficult. Everyone present appreciated the rendition. It was indeed a soulful experience which spellbound students who cheered the singer with thunderous applause. The students experienced the inspiration and mysticism embodied in Indian classical vocal recital. Truly the rendition made students aware about the traditional INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC. The Chairperson, Mr Sindhu Sudhakar Mendke appreciated the renditions and presented mementos to the artists. Principal Mr.Winston Gomez, Manager Mr. D M Thoukar, Vice Principal, Mr Chandresh Shah and the middle school Headmistress Mrs. Rekha Abraham also praised the renditions.
